Under the theme “Pace-setting e-mobility solutions”, Bombardier showcased its revolutionary e-mobility technologies for road transport; leveraging on its expertise and experience from more than 100 years in providing electric rail transportation.
The brand-new MITRAC drive train for e-buses and wireless PRIMOVE charging technology offer operators and bus manufacturers an integrated propulsion and charging package that powers electric vehicles quietly and efficiently – without noisy diesel sounds or CO2 emissions. Both innovations have been developed at Bombardier’s Centre of Excellence for e-mobility in Mannheim, Germany, and facilitate the cleanest and most efficient buses to date.
At the motor show, a 12 metre long electric city bus equipped with PRIMOVE and MITRAC technology performed about 150 demonstration rides for interested visitors on a 1.8 km long test track. The vehicle has been developed together with the bus manufacturer Viseon.
